From November, Ballarat households will move to a new four-bin system. As part of this shift, Scope Australia’s Ballarat facility will act as the local receival point for food and garden waste (FOGO), which will then continue on to be turned into nutrient-rich compost — keeping valuable materials in use and out of landfill.
Our goal in Ballarat has always been to build strong partnerships and help create a true circular economy. The rollout of FOGO is a clear example of that mission in action — practical, local, and focused on real environmental outcomes.
It also strengthens our operational footprint in the region and shows we’re not waiting for change — we’re helping lead it. This partnership reflects our commitment to practical action that benefits both the local community and the environment.
